Perhaps one of the greatest backstops to play the game, Munson's potential Hall of Fame career was cut short one August afternoon in 1979. Munson won Rookie of the Year and was a perennial all-star hitting the prime of his career before that fateful day. This black and white image shows us the Thurman we all remember. Due to his early death, Munson signatures are quite rare, especially on photographic images such as this one. Mint blue ballpoint pen signature; photo shows several folds but overall good condition.
