Wirephoto's are popularly collected, as the images encompass most every popular sports event. They are not Press Photo's as these come directly from news agencies such as Associated Press AP, United Press UP or United Press Association UPA.
Most wirephoto's are easily identified due to text on the photo. This text can include a magazine's stamp or a news service's paper tag. Some photos have an editor's handwritten notes detailing how it was to be used. Some photos have production marks showing that it was used in publishing or advertising.
