JOE DiMAGGIO Posing with Bat Original 1940's News PhotoOriginal 8"x10" photo of Joe DiMaggio posing with his bat in a casual setting. The signature on his bat is not visible (unfortunately), but his World Series ring is. The photo is not dated, but appears to have been taken in the 1940's. Hailing from the archives of The Sporting News, this photograph was taken by William Greene, the brilliant sports photographer of the New York World Telegram and the Sporting News. This beautiful photo bears Greene's stamp on the verso as well as that of The Sporting News, indicating that it was once part of the vast archives of that long-running publication. There is a 1 1/2" tear to the right side (near Joe's elbow) that lies flat and should not detract from the image should it be displayed. Overall a nice piece of history!
